Scanning negatives and prints
Scanning negatives and prints , Just when I thought all my colour slides, some from the early 1960's were beyond help I saw the Epson Perfection and decided to try it. Brilliant is all I can say, the best buy I have made in years, I have now scanned 646 slides and photo negative strips, some of my children when they were just babies and they are all perfect. Needless to say many CD's full of photographic memories are being passed around the family.
Ps3 hdd upgrade
Ps3 hdd upgrade , I was a little dubious about buying a Generic Hard Drive, but when I opened the box was amazed to see that it was from a major producer of HDD's. What's more it has a three year warranty. The only downside was that I could not find this model on the manufacturers website.
Spy video camera
Spy video camera , I bought this item as a christmas present for my 11 year old son so it has not been tried and tested yet. However it came unboxed just wrapped in bubble wrap which I find a bit disappointing and not what I would have expected. The pen is in 2 parts with a small cd rom instruction kit - for a gift presentation should have been much better especially as this item was purchased new.
Panasonic video cameras
Jvc video camera
Jvc video camera, I bought this camcorder for our next family holiday and because the old one finally had its day. The reviews already posted were very useful and after a bit more research I decided to purchase.
It is very simple to use out of the box. Instructions are clear and the battery charge up time was not long (for the standard battery). The quality of the video is very good for home use from standard to ultra fine mode. The battery usage isn't fantasic but good enough for our purposes, i.e. about 30 mins to 1 hour use at a time. Its easy to view files from cam to PC. Please don't buy it for the camera option as the 1.3 MP is not that great and you'll get better pictures from your mobile phone. The camcorder is small (about the size of your hand) and compact.
By way of accessories, I have since bought a spare battery (standard again) which came as part of a starter kit and included a carry case. It also include a mini DV tape as the kit was for an older model. I also bought a Kingston 8GB micro SD card (class 4), which adds a bit more memory. If you are buying a memory card, don't forget to look out for the "class" rating - for video recording then class 4 or above is better due to transfer rates or something like that!
I paid £192 and I've seen the price increase since I bought it a few weeks ago, so look around before buying. The spare batteries do cost a fair bit so be prepared to pay around £40 (I got it with a starter kit which came with the bag)
Overall, a very good product and ideal for family use.

Thailand Beach
Thailand Beach,Just a couple of miles away from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach is this quieter, relaxed beach in Southern Phuket. Kata has everything that makes Phuket so popular – palm trees, warm water and nice scenery, but there are no high rise hotels or shopping malls in sight. During low season, waves at this beach can be intense, making it a great place to do some surfing but not the perfect spot for those with young children.
